Lux On The Injury List
Lux had been struggling at the plate coming into the third week of the season, and unfortunately, due to wrist soreness, he wasn’t going to get much time to turn things around. He only picked up one hit in seven at-bats, but he did add an RBI to his season total. Lux finished the week on the injury list, likely for the rest of the road trip.
Gavin Lux vs. Rockies
April 13 – RBI
Lux got the start and flew out to left field in his first at-bat against Senzatela. Lux got a fastball down the middle from Senzatela his second time at the plate, and Lux grounded it back up the middle for an RBI base hit. He finished off his day with two more strikeouts.
April 14 – RBI Sac Fly
Lux would only get three plate appearances in the second game of the series. He couldn’t find a way to reach base in this one, going 0-for-2 with another strikeout. But in his first plate appearance of the game, he did hit a sac fly driving home a run for the second straight game.
April 15
Lux was initially scheduled to start this game, but before first pitch, the Dodgers announced he was scratched with wrist soreness. He would come into pinch-run for Pollock in the 7th inning, but that was all the action he’d see in this one.
Gavin Lux vs. Padres…kinda
April 16-17 – Wrist Soreness
Lux did not start due to wrist soreness. Roberts said he was available to pinch-run and play defense but could not swing a bat.
April 18 – Lux on the Injury List
Lux officially goes on the injury list, retroactive to April 16. Sheldon Neuse was recalled to take his spot on the roster.
It sounds like Roberts just wants to give Lux extra time to rest because the Dodgers can afford to do so. With the Dodgers having so much depth and the ability to plug guys in at every position, there’s no reason to rush him back to play until he’s fully healthy. Hopefully, I’ll have something a little bit more exciting to share with you guys in the following recap.
