COREY SEAGER: SPRING TRAINING WEEK 1 RECAP

COREY SEAGER: SPRING TRAINING WEEK 1 RECAP

Welcome to the first installment of Seager Weekly Recaps! Every week, we’re going to recap Corey Seager’s contributions to the team, including stats, big hits and any headlines that may come up during the season.

The hottest topic regarding Seager heading into the season is his impending date with free agency. The 2020 World Series MVP has reestablished himself as one of the top players in the league and a key component to the Dodgers’ success on the field. He is represented by Scott Boras, an agent known for getting the most money he can for his clients.

We shall see if Seager is able to carry over last year’s red-hot season into 2021. If he does so, he should vie for the National Leagues’s Silver Slugger and MVP awards.

If his first week in Spring Training is any indication, he will do just that. This past week, he knocked in the Dodgers’ first run of the spring and has been solid at the plate, drawing a couple walks and going 3 for 7 at the plate.
