Wild Card Round Update: Blake Treinen

Blake Treinen pitched a scoreless 8th inning of Game 1, giving up a groundball hit that would’ve been an out had there been traditional defense and striking out one. He didn’t walk anybody, which is always good with Treinen considering he can sometimes get a little wild and he didn’t give up any hard contact, another good sign after some bad recent outings.

Given the amount of grounders Blake induces, it’s always possible he could give up a bad luck hit, but he’s definitely somebody the Dodgers trust to either set up for a closer or close out games in the NLDS and somebody they expect to pitch quite often, based on his regular season usage.
