Tony Gonsolin was born on May 14th, 1994, in California. At the age of 22 he was drafted by the Dodgers in the 9th round in 2016. He started in the Ogden Raptors, to later play with the Great Lakes Loons, during 2016. As his 2017 season began in the minors he continued with the Great Lakes Loons, to later go and play with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes for the remainder of the year and the beginning of 2018.
That same year, Tony Gonsolin went to go play for the AA Tulsa Drillers, up until 2019, when he was finally moved up to play with the AAA Oklahoma City Dodgers. That same year, came that long awaited, well deserved call, to come play in the Major Leagues. He made his MLB Debut with the Dodgers on June 26,2019. During his 2019 season, he went 4-2, with an ERA of 2.93, pitching a total of 40 innings. Being his first year in the Major Leagues, he did not do bad at all.
Entering Spring Training this 2020 year, Gonsolin was the opener for the 1st game. As he continues to embark in his journey with the Dodgers, he proves that he deserves the official starting position.
