The Dodgers and Walker Buehler couldn’t agree to a deal for the 2021 season so they’ll exchange figures and keep working out deals or they will head to an arbitration meeting sometime in February. There’s always a chance the Dodgers and Buehler can come up with a longer-term extension. Walker had a weird 2020 that’s for sure. Missed Opening Day cause he wasn’t built up yet because of the weird starting, stopping, and starting up again due to the pandemic. He struggled with his control a bit and finding a groove because of it. Then he had a nasty blister which caused him to miss some time. In the post-season, his control wasn’t any better due to the blister but he was still good ol Buehler mowing hitters down and despite the walks was able to get out of trouble and avoid giving up runs by blowing his fastball by people. In the last 2 starts, he looked like the old Buehler who was dominant and the command was better. Those games he pitched to Austin Barnes instead of Will Smith. Buehler is an ace and the leader/ future leader of this staff. He’ll be looking for a more consistent 2021 and if on his game could lead him to a Cy Young award. He definitely has the stuff and talent for it. We all know so far in the postseason he’s as good as they come. Here’s to hoping Buehler is here for plenty of years to come.
