    Corey Seager attended Northwest Carrubus High School in North Carolina. Initially, he committed to the University of South Carolina but then the Dodgers drafted in the 1st round as the 18th overall selection in the 2012 draft. Seager signed for a $2.35 million dollar signing bonus.

    Seager started his professional career with the Ogden Raptors where he hit .309 in 46 games. 2013, he moved up to the Great Lakes Loons of the Class A Midwest League. In 74 games with the Loons, he again hit .309 with 12 home runs. The same year, he moved up to Single-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes where he hit .160 in 27 games.

    After a brief sting in the Arizona Fall League – where he played in the league All-Star game – Corey Seager returned to the Quakes and hit .352, with 18 home runs. He was elected to yet another All-Star Game. Seager also played in the Futures Game, then was promoted to Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts. He hit .345 in 38 games for the Lookouts.

    In 2014 he was co-minor league player of the year with Joc Pederson. Going into the 2015 season, MLB ranked Seager as the 7th best prospect in baseball. He started the year with Double-A Tulsa Drillers and he hit .375 in 20 games before promotion to Triple-A Oklahoma City Dodgers. While with OKC, he had a game where he went 6 for 6 with a home run and 6 RBIs. He hit .276 for them during the season. He was the 2015 Triple-A Player of the Year.

    Corey Seager joined the big league Dodger team on September 3rd, 2015, playing his first game at shortstop agains the San Diego Padres. Seager won Rookie of the Year in 2016 and finished 3rd in MVP voting in 2017. He’s one of the best Shortstops in baseball.
