Weekly Update: Blake Treinen

Blake Treinen had another solid week in a very strong 2020 comeback campaign. He threw 2 scoreless innings in Arizona (getting a save on Wednesday), making good on his promise to pound the zone after taking a loss vs. Colorado when got behind on a lot of counts. Treinen was at his best, with those high velocity pitches biting in on hitters and just really attacking them and being aggressive.

Blake gave up a couple hits and a run to the Astros in Saturday’s game, but I chalk that up to familiarity from his time in Oakland. Treinen was throwing strikes and, with him, that’s the most important thing considering how nasty his pitches are.
