NLCS Player Update: Cody Bellinger
-
This series kept our hearts racing to the very end of Game 7.
Game 1 and 2 – 10/12 – 10/13
In the first 2 games of the NLCS, Belli did not start off too well. Only having 1 hit in 9 At Bats and 1 RBI.
Game 3 – 10/14/20
Came the 3rd game and it seemed the Dodgers bats were waking up. Belli has 4 At Bats, 2 hits, 2, 2 runs and 2 RBI’s. This game also marked his first homerun of the NLCS.
Game 4 – 10/15/20
Game 4 was not an easy one. Bellinger went 3-0. The bats seemed to not be waking up once more and the Dodgers ended up losing 10-2. Putting them at 3-1 with Atlanta, one game away from being eliminated.
Game 5 – 10/16/20
Game 5 came along and it could not be more stressful. Bellinger did not have such a good night. He went 4-0, with another game without a single hit and striking out 3 times.
Still having hope that the Dodgers would make a comeback from the 3-1, they did just that. The Dodgers ended up winning 7-3.
Game 6 – 10/17/20
Game 6, being so close to tie the game to then force a game 7. Bellinger finally hit after going 2 games with nothing. This game he went 3-1, with 1 RBI. The best part? The Dodgers ended up winning 3-1, forcing the game 7.
Game 7 – 10/18/20
This game was all or nothing. Either the Dodgers were advancing or they were eliminated. Bellinger came through!! The Dodgers were tied 3-3 going into the 7th inning. The count was 2 strikes, 2 balls, 3 fouls and then came the big hit. Belli hit a homerun, which gave the Dodgers the lead 4-3!
Giving them the win over Atlanta, to advance to the World Series for the 3rd time in 4 years.
