joc pederson weekly updateDrafted in the 11th round of the 2010 draft, Joc Pederson has spent his entire career in the Dodgers organization. His father, Stu Pederson, also played for the Dodgers. During his time in the minors, Joc racked up awards and records, including AAA Player of the Year in 2014. That year, he racked up 30 home runs and 30 steals for the Albuquerque Isotopes. He made his debut in the Majors in September of that year and became the starting centerfielder in 2015.

Since then, outfielder Joc Pederson has been a stalwart in the Dodgers lineup for year and is certainly a fan favorite. He’s known for his trademark power against right-handed pitching. Pederson was a National League All-Star in 2015, his rookie season with the Dodgers. An everyday player against righties, Pederson hit a career high 36 homers last year and while he’s struggling somewhat in 2020, the power is still there.

Joc Pederson might best be known for his performance in the 2017 World Series. Had the Dodgers won, he likely would have been the MVP, clobbering three clutch home runs. Unfortunately, the Dodgers fell to the Astros (later revealed as cheating) in 7 games. Pederson has competed in two home runs derbies, losing in the finals in 2015 and the semi-finals in 2019, after three tie-breaking rounds in his battle with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. A constant force of nature in the Dodgers lineup against righties, Pederson has been crucial to the Dodgers’ success the past few years.
