On Friday, the Dodgers declined Jimmy Nelson’s $2 million option making him a free agent. By declining his option, the Dodgers did have to pay his $500k buyout.
The Dodgers picked Nelson in the 2019 offseason, but a back injury led to season-ending surgery, and he never threw a pitch for the Dodgers.
The Dodgers 40-man roster is now down to 32.
