A week in review: Julio Urias

Julio Urias’ week was much like his season as a whole. Inconsistent and a bit up and down. In his start vs the Diamondbacks, he looked fantastic, he went 6 innings, struck out 5 most importantly walked none, and only gave up 1 run he looked great, threw his Curveball and Change-up a ton, and got good results from them. Howevever the complete opposite in start vs the Rockies. He gave up 4 runs in 4 1/3 inning he did strike out 6 but he also walked 2 his command was spotty left hanging breaking balls in the zone as well as the Fastball too much over the plate and wasnt elevating it enough or getting in down enough. Could this be because he was on 4 days rest? It’s possible, i questioned him pitching on 4 days rest when he’s struggled with command all year but whats done is done. There’s clear good things that Julio does even in his bad starts.He’s gotta start finding that consistency in his command and pitches. If he can put it together we’ll get more starts like the Diamondbacks start if not, well then more inconsistency. His next start could be against the Asstros, hopefully it’s a good start.
