Could Kershaw have another Cy Young season?

Clayton Kershaw is entering his last year on his contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Throughout his career, he’s won 3 Cy Young awards (2011,2013,2014) and won an MVP award in 2014. In my opinion, Kershaw should’ve won the Cy Young in 2017, which some would seem is biased (won by Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer).

Anyway, that’s not what we are here to talk about. Does Kershaw have a Cy Young season left in him? Last season Clayton was amazing and didn’t slow down even during the playoffs. He finished with a 6-2 record and a 2.16 earned run average. It’s the second-lowest earned run average of his career. Most fans won’t think twice about this since it was only 60 game season.

I disagree, especially with what I saw last year. His velocity on his fastball was up also his fastball usage went down. He was still dominant while mixing pitches perfectly. I think Kershaw can and will have one more Cy Young award before he retires. This is the year to do it. He’s coming off an outstanding 2020 season and a World Series championship. Unfortunately, neither he nor the Dodgers know if he will be in LA after the 2021 season; what a better way to prove that age is just a number, and he is still one of the best in the game today than winning the Cy Young in his contract year.

Do you think Clayton Kershaw can still win a Cy Young award at 32 years old?
