Kershaw vs. Darvish, Round Two

As the Dodgers returned home, they faced a four-game series with budding rivals the San Diego Padres, starting Thursday, April 22nd. This meant Dodger starters Buehler, Kershaw, Bauer, and May squared off against the Padres.  Fans were eager to see the Dodgers go up against the Padres in their home stadium as the tension between those two teams could be sensed miles away. Losing the first game in the series meant all eyes would be on Kershaw as he went up once more against former Dodger, Yu Darvish.  Kershaw vs. Darvish, round two.

Well… let’s say it wasn’t his best outing. At the very start of the first inning, due to an error and a hit, the Padres had two men on base with only one out.  Thanks to a double play, the Dodgers were left unharmed. That wasn’t the case for the second and third inning as Will Myers homered in the 2nd inning, followed by a homer by Tatís in the third. At this point, the Dodgers were down 2-1. In the fifth inning, Kershaw gave up another homer from Tatís. 

Kershaw’s night vs Yu Darvish came to an end after seven innings, leaving the Dodgers down 3-1. 

While it wasn’t his night, there was also a series of errors and a lack of batting in the game. Many players did not have it, so that affected them greatly. Kershaw has been one of those that gives 110% of himself in every game he plays, and that’s the thing we love about him. His passion and dedication for his team go above and beyond. 

One game does not define who you are, and hey, maybe this will serve as a wake-up call for the team to clean up little things here and there. 

Remember this, Dodger Fans: The season has just begun, we still have a long way to go, but the Champions are ready to bring the title back home.
