Dodgers Finalize Stripling Trade to the Blue Jays

Last trade deadline the Dodgers sent pitcher Ross Stripling to the Blue Jays for Kendall Williams and player to be named later. Today that player to be named later was announced and it’s Ryan Noda.

Noda is a 24-year-old first baseman and outfielder who was drafted in the 15th round of the 2017 draft out of the University of Cinncinati. He tore up rookie ball after being drafted where in 66 games he .364 with an on-base of .507. In low A ball in 2018, he batted .256 and had an on-base of .421. If one thing is clear it’s that he takes his walks. He also provides pretty decent power from the left-handed side. In his 3 minor league seasons, he’s Ops’ing at .900. He does strike out quite a bit 26% but also walks 19% of the time, so, his patience at the plate is his best trait.

Noda is expected to be in Dodgers camp as a non-roster invitee as soon as he can get there. What do you guys think of the Stripling deal now that the trade is complete?
