How I’ve been dealing with having no sports
I think it’s been about two weeks since we last had sports. Everything sports related has been very slow or stopped completely. Places like SportsCenter, MLB Network, NFL Network have been showing older replays of UFC fights, Super Bowl games, and other nostalgic sporting events. I have not been watching those that much. I know it helps a lot of fans but it actually makes it worse for me. When I watch them it makes me think that baseball isn’t coming back anytime soon or maybe not even this year. Which makes me more sad. I try my best to stay busy but it’s tough now that we have been ordered to stay indoors.
Having no sports at all has been really affecting me mentally. Sports and most importantly baseball is all I have and love. I am always on my phone checking stats, games highlights, or replays of stuff I may have missed. If my tv is on I’m always watching sports.
I just keep thinking about how on March 27th I would’ve been at Dodgers Stadium on the second game of the season against the Giants. Now, I don’t know when or if that will happen. Postponing and/or cancelling seasons or events was absolutely the right move. They want to keep their players and their fans safe. Also they want to stop the virus from spreading so by them doing this it is helping.
I realistically think that all of this is only the beginning. So if you’re reading this, stay safe and wash your hands!
