Absolute Madness at Dodger Stadium 04/29/2017
2017 was a great year for the Dodgers where they finished 104-58 which was a great record. I want to talk about one of these wins that happened in April against the Phillies. On 04/29/2017 the Dodgers were facing off against the Phillies and the Dodgers fell behind early and the score was 5-2 in favor of the Phillies heading into the 9th inning. Puig was up first and hit a home run, then Bellinger hit his second career home run and Turner extended his hitting streak at the time to 15 games. That was a pretty special game, and it eventually ended with a Barnes walk off hit. That moment was just one highlight in an incredible season by the Dodgers . As well as a highlight for Barnes in a great season for him. Looking back on that game brings a lot of memories of that season as well as the players we had at the time. Adrian Gonzalez for example got on base during that game and contributed to the walk off. Adrian could have had a great season but it was derailed by injuries so unfortunately for Adrian he lost his job as primary first baseman to Cody Bellinger who had his first of over 100 career home runs during that game that season was also his rookie of the year campaign and as we all know Bellinger would become the most valuable player in the national league a couple years later. I’m looking forward to when we can watch Bellinger compete for his second MVP.
