It looks like our baseball dreams have been answered! Well, sort of that is. In the hours after the MLB made its decision to suspend baseball operations, a plan was hatched.
It all started on twitter…
Eleven hours ago pitcher David Carpenter tweeted to the ever polarizing Trevor Bauer; “@BauerOutage you think we could get some of the guys together at a random field in PHX and have a pickup baseball game, sandlot style?”
One hour later a reply was given from the man himself tweeting; “I’m 100000000000000% in”.
In that same hour Bauer lit the beacons of Gondor and put out the word; “To any @MLB or @MiLB players in AZ who want in on this sandlot game, please respond to this tweet and @Watch_Momentum will organize with you. All pitchers and hitters will be micd up. Mandatory. Open to any other rule suggestions. Let me know!”
Would anyone answer the call? Or would we be left wondering, “what could have been?”
One hour ago we got our answer; “Confirmed, this is happening. All content and live streams from this event will be distributed through @Watch_Momentum and my personal channels (@Twitter, @instagram, @Facebook, and @YouTube) No further announcements will be made so follow now or risk missing it entirely. 💪🏻💪🏻”
The call was answered, Baseball will be played, I repeat. We. Will. Have. Baseball!!
