“Funky Muncy” is Back!!
Just yesterday it was announced that Max Muncy would stay with the Dodgers for 3 years under a $26 million contract. Max Muncy is a versatile player and has a lot of potential to grow even more, which will benefit the Dodgers. Seeing his dedication for the team is amazing.
One of my earliest memories of Max Muncy is when he attended the All Star Home Run Derby in 2018. Although he didn’t make the All Star team, he was a finalist. Muncy went out there and played his heart out, making it to the semi finals but losing to Bryce Harper 13 to 12. He then gained even more respect from the fans, including his rivals. That didn’t stop Muncy from always giving 110% of himself.
The most iconic memory of Max Muncy, that I know I will always remember was Game 3 of the 2018 World Series against Boston. Being the longest world series game ever played in history, Game 3 had to have a spectacular ending. Max Muncy delivered that ending, that forever marked history. With 3 balls, 2 strikes and no outs, Max Muncy hit a solo home run in the 18th inning, giving the Dodgers their first victory in this World Series.

Muncy’s walk offs didn’t end there. He contributed so much this past season with his 35 home runs, and his walk offs. This then gave him the opportunity to return to the All Star Game in 2019, now as a member of the team. A well deserved honor that he worked so hard to achieve. Now that the All Star game comes to Dodger Stadium, Max Muncy has the potential of making it back again and help achieve a win for the National League.
I look forward to seeing what “ Funky Muncy” has to offer this team in the next couple of years.
