The Death of a Legend

Never thought that this Day would come so soon
On Sunday Morning came the news that Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi and 7 other passengers had suffered a helicopter accident in which there were no survivors. This caused a huge impact not only in the NBA but worldwide. Just the night before Lebron James had surpassed Kobe’s record for All time Scoring and even had spoken with him Sunday morning. Kobe had also sent a message congratulating our MVP Cody Bellinger. Kobe was the face of LA, the bond he had with his community was unbreakable.
Kobe touched the lives of many of our boys in blue. Alex Wood wrote this message about one of his first memories and feelings towards the death of Kobe “ Devastated. Prayers for Kobe and his family. He was the first athlete I ever wrote a letter in hopes of him sending me an autograph back. Months later I had a Kobe card show up in the mail. First class human that impacted so many people’s lives in a positive manner”. He was an inspiration to all athletes and his community. The death of Kobe is still something that is hard to imagine occurred, along with the other passengers who had an impact on the lives they touched.
Being a Dodger and Lakers fan since I was a kid, it breaks my heart to think that the great legend is gone. How can someone who would give the world for his family, his community, be gone so soon. Although Kobe is gone, his legacy will continue. Prayers go out to the Bryant, Altobelli, Mauser, Chester and Zobayan families. #mambaforlife
